The brief was to create a bespoke illustrated album cover inspired by the album & themes, with a medieval woodcut-esque style.
Project Goal
I collaborated closely with the artist to uncover the best way to illustrate the cover. The aim was to use visual storytelling to reflect the prominent themes present on the album.

Project Description
During research, I delved into old medieval woodcut illustrations of demons and strange surreality, finally deciding that I should incorporate a touch of this style, but in an altogether dreamier way. The final illustration was inspired by the rich visual lyrics of the album, which transport the listener into a dreamy and surreal world, evoking imagery of sleepless nights, shipwrecked and in the company of demons...
Hand drawn and rendered with watercolours on watercolour paper, finally layered together with a watercolour splashed ‘starry sky’ using Affinity, the result is a lovingly crafted ode to the depth of feeling on this album.
